Develop an internal tool that actually supports your process

When spreadsheets, inboxes, and disconnected SaaS tools stop scaling, work becomes slow and error-prone. I build internal tools with Next.js that fit your process: roles, statuses, data, and overview in one place.

What problem does this solve?

Internal processes often grow faster than the tools around them. Excel works until versions collide. Email works until nobody knows the current status anymore.

Disconnected standard tools solve pieces, but not your full flow. Then you get copy-paste between systems, double entry, and exceptions that only exist 'in someone's head'.

A custom internal tool brings the work together: who may see what, which steps belong to a case, and which data is trustworthy. Less searching, less manual hand-off.

This does not need to be an enterprise platform. Often a focused Next.js app with login, roles, and a few sharp workflows is already enough to win back hours every week.

Who is this for?

  • Operations and back-office teams stuck on spreadsheets
  • SMEs with internal approval or follow-up processes
  • Teams that manually merge data from multiple systems
  • Organizations that need a light admin or workflow app
  • Companies that want to prove something internally before making it customer-facing

What I concretely build

  • Internal web apps with login, roles, and permissions
  • Workflows: statuses, tasks, filters, and overviews
  • Forms and validation that catch errors early
  • Connections to existing tools or APIs where needed
  • Delivery your team can use daily and extend later

Approach

  1. 01

    1. Sharpen the process

Which steps happen now, where do things go wrong, and who has which role? We map the flow before we build screens.

  2. 02

    2. Minimum workable tool

First the core workflow that removes the most pain. No all-in-one internal platform from day one.

  3. 03

    3. Build with real users

Early feedback from the people who will work with it. Internal tools fail faster on usability than on missing features.

  4. 04

    4. Put it into use

Deploy, permissions, and a clean handover. Only then expand with modules that prove necessary in practice.

Example from practice

Think of an internal follow-up environment: cases coming in, status tracking, assigning owners, and making exceptions visible. Instead of a shared spreadsheet, the team gets one source of truth with filters, permissions, and a flow that matches how you actually work.

If the process is small and stable: often yes. Once errors, search time, or manual hand-offs structurally cost money, a focused tool pays for itself quickly.
